Roots to Roast: African Coffee by Africup
Welcome to Africup, the home of ethically sourced, fully traceable African speciality coffee.
Supporting the Source
We work exclusively with sustainable smallholder farms and eco-conscious cooperatives across Africa’s coffee-producing countries. Through direct and long-standing relationships between growers and our ethical sourcing partners, together, we aim to rebalance the coffee industry and celebrate those at its source - the farmers.
Coffee with Conscience
From planted seed to kitchen cupboard, the journey of Africup’s beans is 100% traceable. We channel all we can into promoting fair and transparent relationships with our partner producers. We frequently share news from our farmers and hope you enjoy hearing from them as much as we love sharing their stories.
Quality & Authenticity
From our London HQ to the fields of our partnered farms, the Africup team works passionately to bring you the rich, vibrant and characterful taste of African coffee, each hand-picked and seasonally sourced. Face to face relationships between farmers and our sourcing partners ensures our offering remains unblemished and exceptional – and we know you’ll love it.
Small Batch Roasting
Using a Giesen W6A roaster, our coffee is freshly roasted in small batches to ensure peak flavour and maximum quality control with every roast, whilst also minimising waste. Our roasting techniques expertly enhance the distinctive characteristics of each coffee we source, with a single roast method designed for each and every coffee.
We care about our beautiful planet and sustainability sits at the heart of our business. Our shipping boxes are compostable and 100% recyclable, with kraft paper shipping tape to make recycling our boxes easier. Our coffee pouches are 100% LDPE 4 and are fully recyclable.
We are proud supporters of Project Waterfall, a charity that directly support clean drinking water and sanitation projects across Africa’s coffee-growing communities, from Ethiopia to Rwanda to Tanzania. We donate 10% from each bag of coffee sold to Project Waterfall. Discover more here.
We're a woman-owned and operated business and take pride in remaining independent, ethically sourced and dedicated to improving the welfare of Africa's coffee farming communities.
